Kenneth B Jensen
Laurie and I have been married for 30 years. We have 6 children. Rebecca graduated in art from BYU and works as a graphic designer for the Baytown Sun newspaper but would love to do Japanese style comics. Michael is a 2nd year law student, also at BYU, and was married recently to Alejandra Guerra from Santiago Chile. Tim is married to Jodie Madsen from Alpine,UT and is to finish his BA at BYU in economics this Christmas, presently he is interested in working for the State department Marissa just graduated in Latin while Jeff just started at BYU and Jake just entered high school.
We have lived in Baytown Texas about 23 years, coming here from Waldwick, New Jersey on a transfer with Exxon Chemical, where I started to work after my PhD in Fuels Engineering from the U of U. Here I have worked as a process engineer generally, helping conceive and execute projects for ethylene and polyethylene plants as well as some work in methanol, acetic acid, vinyl acetate and gassification. Occasionally I have been involved in projects in refineries also. Presently I work in the Houston office of a large international engineering company based out of Canada--SNC-Lavalin. I have also at times worked in doing evaluations of small businesses, particularly relating to their technology, for an investment banker.
In the LDS church I am presently on the High Council of the Houston Texas East Stake, where my assignment deals with welfare and preparedness. This puts me in an active position to prepare for hurricanes and to deal with their aftermath. We are grateful that Gustav appears to have not done tremendous damage. Certainly we had a lot of activity with Rita and Katrina.
After becoming increasing concerned with our continuing loss of freedom I have become much more politically active, not so much by my nature but because of the need. I have served as a Republican precinct chairman and and election judge. I support the ideas of the Declaration of Independence and its vehicle of execution- The US Constitution. I oppose the power flowing to the UN, the WTO, NAFTA, CAFTA, the proposed FTAA, the World Court, etc.(NWO) and lately the drive for the EU like effort to put us in the North American Union (NAU). I have written letters to the editor, congressman, etc. Several years ago I went around the Texas State convention with a sticker that said "I am a Ron Paul Republican".
One of my hobbies is writing music and I have taken some classes in audio engineering.
All of the above has kept me pretty busy but I hope to reconnect better with friends from the past because it is wonderful to learn from one another and support one another.
Regards,
Ken Jensen
